The gap between selling and knowing

Selling on eBay is easy. Working out what you actually made is not.

Fees, postage, refunds and stock bought in bundles quickly turn a simple spreadsheet into guesswork.

Scattered costs

eBay reports part of the story. Stock, packaging and external postage live somewhere else.

Bulk-lot headaches

A single purchase price needs to be sensibly divided across everything you later sell.

Tax-time uncertainty

Your accountant needs organised source records, not a box of reports and half-finished notes.

Three straightforward steps

The complete toolkit

Built around the records Australian resellers actually have

No chart of accounts. No bookkeeping jargon. Just a guided path from your eBay report to figures you can understand and records your accountant can use.

Questions, answered plainly

Before you get started

My Merchant Desk helps organise and estimate. It does not replace professional accounting or tax advice.

Is My Merchant Desk accounting software?

No. It is a practical record-preparation and profit-estimation toolkit for Australian eBay sellers. Your accountant remains responsible for tax treatment and lodgements.

Does it connect directly to my eBay account?

No. You download a Transaction report from Seller Hub and import the CSV yourself. This keeps the process simple and avoids giving My Merchant Desk access to your eBay account.

Where is my sales information stored?

Your imported records stay in this browser on this device. My Merchant Desk includes backup, restore and delete-all controls, and it reminds you to keep a backup before clearing browser data.

How does the annual membership work?

Join by 15 November 2026 to pay A$39 per year and keep that rate while your membership remains continuously active. The planned standard price is A$59 per year. Membership renews annually unless cancelled before the next renewal; the founding rate will not apply if you cancel and rejoin later.
