How it works

From an eBay report to records that make sense.

My Merchant Desk follows one clear path and asks only for information that is genuinely missing.

1

Download and import

Download the Transaction report for your chosen period from Seller Hub and upload the CSV. My Merchant Desk detects the report headings, ignores buyer-contact fields and separates sales, fees, postage, refunds and credits.

If eBay changes a heading, a matching screen lets you confirm the important columns before anything is imported.
2

Work through Things to Check

My Merchant Desk highlights information eBay cannot know: what stock cost, whether it came from a bulk purchase, postage paid elsewhere and what happened to a returned item.

Every unresolved item remains visible until you complete it, so missing costs do not quietly disappear.
3

Review and export

Check sales, selling costs and estimated profit for the Australian financial year, then download a structured workbook with the source records and calculation methodology.

You can also download a My Merchant Desk backup so the browser-based records can be restored later.

Use eBay’s Transaction report

My Merchant Desk is designed for the CSV Transaction report available from Seller Hub’s Payments reports area—not a bank statement, payout summary or orders export.

What My Merchant Desk does

  • Organises transaction-report data into understandable categories
  • Helps fill gaps such as stock cost and external postage
  • Reconciles the reconstructed figures with eBay’s reported net amount
  • Produces an estimated profit summary and accountant workbook

What it does not do

  • Connect directly to your eBay account or bank
  • Decide GST or income-tax treatment for you
  • Lodge a tax return or replace your accountant
  • Store your transaction data in a My Merchant Desk cloud account
